Gray Cars

The gray cars have been at Minièresbunn since May 25, 2012. The cars were converted by the Mühlhäuser company in Michelstadt from former rotary dump trucks (which were used during the construction of the Gotthard Tunnel). The cars are equipped with compressed-air brakes and can be sealed for the journey through the mine. As a result, these cars already meet future EU safety requirements. They were first put into service for the 2012 BluesExpress. Since the cars are significantly taller than the other cars in the Minièresbunn fleet, the track at the Lasauvage mine exit heading toward Saulnes still needs to be modified before the cars can use this exit as well.
