The locomotive was used by ARBED Mines Françaises at the “Mine des Terres Rouges.”
After ARBED ceased iron ore mining in 1997, the locomotive was added to the Minièresbunn collection.

ARBED had a total of 6 locomotives (50–55) of this type in service. These were always operated in double-unit formation.

This was necessary to transport the heavy ore trains to Esch-Alzette.
It should be noted that the average gradient of the line was between 20 and 30‰.
Such an ore train consisted of either 8 (total 304 metric tons), 10 (total 383 metric tons), or 12 (total 447 metric tons) cars.
